Posthuman Study

My artistic practice engages with posthumanism, which explores how human identity might evolve through advancements in technology and our understanding of consciousness. I investigate the limitations of the human body, particularly its mortality, and examine two prominent approaches to transcendence: technological augmentation and spiritual enlightenment.
Technological augmentation, exemplified by cyborgian concepts, seeks to overcome biological limitations through integration with technology. However, this often involves sacrificing a degree of physical mobility.
Spiritual enlightenment, on the other hand, proposes transcendence by emphasizing the immaterial nature of the mind or soul, suggesting liberation from the constraints of the physical body and the attainment of eternal existence.
This work critically examines both approaches; it recognizes their inherent limitations and explores the potential consequences of each. By exploring these visions of the future, I hope to generate a conversation surrounding the evolving human condition and the ethical implications of posthumanist ambitions.
